Varsity volleyball’s game was an away game and held on Sep 7 against Downey Christian with the score at the end being 3-2 in Liberty’s favor. Their next game was on Sep 9 against Reborn Christian. It was a match well played, but Reborn Christian pulled through with the end score being 3-2. JV volleyball’s game was an away game held on Sep 7 against Trinity Lutheran with the ending score being 2-0 for Trinity. Their next game was played on Sep 9 against Reborn Christian. Their game was a home game with the ending score being 2-0 in LCP’s favor. Last, but definitely not least, LCP’s cross country team had a meet on Saturday, Sep 11 in Wildwood. The top three times for the LCP teams were as follows: Varsity Boys: Senior, Grant Thomas 20:41, Sophomore, Noah Frerking 20:56, and Junior’s, Aiden Thomas and Abhijith Rajeev tied with a time of 23:11. JV Boys: Freshman Eric Avila 27:01, Seventh grader Angel Garcia 28:17, Chris Lainez 30:42. Girls: Seventh grader Delaney Thomas 28:53, Freshman Meghan Nelson 29:08, and Catherine Clunn 30:10.

A NEW SCHOOL RECORD!! Seventh grader, Delaney Thomas broke the existing school record for varsity girls cross country! Thomas ran the 5K in 29:29 at the meet in Deland on Saturday, September 4th. The top three times for the LCP cross country teams were as follows: Varsity Boys: Senior, Grant Thomas 20:58, Sophomore, Noah Frerking 21:51, and Junior, Aiden Thomas 23:33. JV Boys: Seventh grader Angel Garcia 26:16, Eighth grader EJ Avila 29:52, and Freshman Zane West 30:01. Girls: Seventh grader Delaney Thomas 29:29, Freshman Meghan Nelson 32:21, and Ainsley Thomas 35:02.Last week LCP also had three volleyball games. Varsity volleyball’s game was an away game and held on Sep 3 against Southland Christian. It was a match well played, but Southland Christian pulled through with the end score being 3-0. JV volleyball had two games played on Aug 31 and Sep 3. The first of the two games was a home game against Trinity Lutheran and the Lady Lions unfortunately didn’t pull out the victory with the ending score being 2-1. Their second game was an away game against Southland Christian with the ending score being 2-0 in Southland’s favor.

Go Lions! LCP’s sports have started back up for the 2020-21 school year!. Last week we had two volleyball games and one cross country meet. Varsity volleyball’s game was held on August 24 against Way of Wisdom. It was a match well played, but Way of Wisdom pulled through with the end score being 3-1. JV volleyball played on August 27 against Pathways and the Lady Lions pulled out a blowout victory with the ending score being 2-0. Last, but definitely not least, LCP’s cross country team had a meet on Saturday, August 28. It was in Winter Park and the top three times for the LCP teams were as follows: Varsity Boys: Senior, Grant Thomas 21:21, Sophomore, Noah Frerking 22:09, and Junior, Aiden Thomas 24:37. JV Boys: freshman Zane West 31:34, Eighth grader Elijah Price 32:49, and Seventh grader Angel Garcia 33:41. Girls: Seventh grader Delaney Thomas 30:49, Sophomore Catherine Clunn 32:53, and Freshman Meghan Nelson 32:57.

Liberty Christian Prep is excited to announce our new 4th Grade teacher, Mrs. Frenier. Mrs. Frenier began her teaching career in Lake County 24 years ago after graduating from Florida Christian College with a degree in Christian Education and Elementary Education. She’s been married to her college sweetheart for 25 years and has 3 wonderful children. Mrs. Frenier has 8 years of teaching experience and also worked as a parent educator for 5 years. She has a heart specifically for Christian Education and teaching others what it means to be a follower of Christ, whether you’re 9 years old or 99 years old. A verse she would love to instill in her students is: 1 Timothy 4:12, “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” Mrs. Frenier just recently moved back to Lake County after 18 years of living in Georgia and Ohio. After graduating from the University of Central Florida, she has spent the majority of her professional life working with preschool and elementary-aged students. Mrs. Harper and her husband have been married for seven years, and they enjoy watching movies and drinking good coffee. In her spare time, you can find her with her nose in a book or visiting with family. Mrs. Harper's favorite Bible verses are Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. Liberty Christian Prep is excited to announce our new kindergarten teacher, Ms. Briggs. Ms. Briggs was born and raised in Florida. She graduated from The Baptist College of Florida with a B.A. in Education Studies and a B.A. in Psychology. This will be her fourth year teaching and she is excited for the new journey that lies ahead. When Ms. Briggs isn’t teaching, you can find her crafting with her cricut or cooking in the kitchen. Ms. Briggs tries to instill positivity and encouragement in her students.
